This is the second autumn I’ve had this year. The first was in Australia back in March and April. It’s a favorite time of year for many people who love the changing colors. I like a bright autumn day as much as anyone else, but while I enjoy those falling leaves I definitely do not enjoy the falling temperatures, or for that matter the dwindling daylight hours. I’ve spent the last few years chasing the sun, so like a migrating bird, these cold days start pushing me to seek warmer climes.
That said, a walk in the Bois de Vincennes, located on the eastern edge of Paris, is quite dramatic on a bright autumn day like today. I was here in the spring when the blossom trees seemed luminescent and now in autumn the golds and reds are equally as vibrant and arresting.
