In the town of Chartres, just an hour outside of Paris, popular Celtic folk band, Startijenn, plays to the packed town square. Throughout the summer the town stages several open-air free concerts featuring a whole host of bands and musical genres.
The Celtic music of Brittany, energetically adapted by Startijenn, brought out a large crowd of all ages. Many of those present were dancing the rather peculiar traditional ‘jig’ that is associated with the ‘Breton style’ of folk music.
