At the pier in Lorne, a group of children are having a great time repeatedly jumping off the pier into the waves of the choppy water below. It’s Easter Sunday and despite the overcast and windy weather that has put a real chill in the air, the popular Great Ocean Road beach town is teeming with crowds.

I’m an optimist, so hopefully, the wind will blow the clouds away tonight, and tomorrow we’ll have some sun. Summer may officially be over now, but like the kids on the pier, I’m not quite ready to accept that yet.
