I snapped today’s picture when I stopped my moped to take a phone call. Across the road girls wearing short skirts, high heels, and way too much make up sat outside a rather run down looking ‘Go go club.’ They all looked thoroughly bored and disconnected from their surroundings. As sexy as they may have been, the scene looked a long way from sexy to me.

Initially, I had no intention of choosing this photograph as today’s picture. I snapped it to send so the person I was talking to on the phone. “Here, I’ll take a picture and email it to you,” I said as I rested the camera on the handlebars and zoomed in on the girls across the road. The shot is blurred and badly set up, but when I looked at it later I liked that the ‘go go girls’ are all looking at their phones or some other device. Even the girl in the centre of the picture is holding what looks like an iPad. It’s like their bodies are there, but they’re attentions are clearly somewhere else entirely.
