Need rice?

  • Rice lady

At a village market in northern Thailand, a woman sells many different varieties of rice by measuring out the desired amount into plastic bags for her customers. It’s a typical market you would see across Asia and much of the world. Fresh produce, meats and fish, are brought in daily. This is, in effect, the local supermarket, and there are other stalls selling other items from shoes to cheap jewellery.

My presence is not going unnoticed. They don’t get a lot of foreigners out here so I am being looked at with curiosity as I walk around the market. You get used to that when you go off the tourist trail, and I try to get off the tourist trail as often as I can.

366 is coming to an end very soon, so please Like 366 Pictures on Facebook. It’s just nice for me to know there are people out there who enjoy the work I put into this project!
