  • I keep coming back to Asia, a place I’m very familiar with these days, a place I love for so many reasons. Thailand is one of the best places to visit in South East Asia. It’s food, the culture, and the cost, make it an easy, safe, and enjoyable location for any adventure or trip to just unwind.

In effect, I am on vacation. Yes, I am a full-time traveller so the notion of me being on vacation might sound strange, but I’m viewing my trip here as exactly that.

I woke up this morning in a little hotel in Bangkok by a busy road. I looked out of the window and saw a little old lady sweeping dust out of her home with a brush, another lady preparing food at a little food stall in the ally by the hotel, and the busy road carrying commuters by in a blur of colors and noise.

I venture out into the local neighbourhood looking for breakfast, knowing that eggs and bacon, toast and coffee are not going to be on the menu anywhere in this non-touristy part of the city.

The local train station is bustling as people board a commuter train. The platform is packed with stalls selling food, and general goods, while the road on the other side of the tracks is also busy with more food vendors. As the train pulls out of the station, people casually cross the rails and step over the wall then blend into Bangkok.

That’s what I’m doing today. Blending into Bangkok and back into Asia. Tonight I’ll be taking the overnight train to Northern Thailand. And tomorrow? Lets see what happens.
