Two Paris Police officers, Rudy and Bacary, pose beside their police van, opposite the grand Hôtel de Ville. I cycled passed them today and noticed them watching people and chuckling with one another. I had the distinct impression they were probably making funny comments about the crowds of tourists strolling through the square at the Hôtel de Ville.

They seemed friendly enough, and so I decided to circle around and go and see if they would object to me taking a photograph of them working hard. Rudy (left) seemed a little apprehensive at first, but Bacary was happy to pose for the picture as long as he could choose the best shot.

They were both happy with this one, so here they are, Rudy and Bacary, keeping Paris safe!
