A Parisian bus conductor proudly stands at his post on the back of a vintage Paris bus. The bus is not in active service and the conductor is actually a train driver who has volunteered to be a bus conductor for a special day in Paris.
The occasion is a ‘European Heritage Day.’ Across France, the day is being observed with the opening of several government buildings and facilities. Special access and events are granted to the public on these days.
The friendly conductor posed for this picture aboard the Renault TN4HP bus that tirelessly drove Paris bus routes from 1936 to 1971. The interior of the bus reminded me of the old 78 tram that I often rode back in Melbourne.
