Today’s picture was taken just beyond the walls of the ancient town of Carcassonne, in southern France’s Languedoc region. Old houses painted in beautiful pastel colors line the narrow laneways of the town that grew beyond the ramparts of the ancient hilltop medieval citadel that was built in the 12th century.
