  • It’s late and I have an impossibly early start tomorrow, so allow me to be brief.

    This isn’t my balcony, it’s the balcony of a friend of a friend of a friend. That sounds like it might be a more interesting story, but it’s not really.

    As I stood at this balcony tonight I wondered if people who have balconies like this spend time peering into the windows of other apartments? I suppose they might, but then its unlikely that they would admit to doing so. Do they themselves feel like someone in one of those nearby windows might be watching them? I admit that I would probably watch nearby windows a little, at least until familiarity got the better of my curiosity.

    1. I like that. Such a strange contrast from the leafy forest of a few days ago.
      Balconies and windows overlooking neighbours are a bit alien to the british culture…. I’ll have to watch Rear Window again soon!
