Learning lunch

  • Students at the Santa Rosa Junior College’s Culinary Café Bakery carefully prepare food for paying customers as part of their training in the Culinary Arts program offered by the college. The Café opens for lunch at 11:30AM and serves seasonal salads, soups, sandwiches, pizzas, entrees and desserts until 2:00PM from Wednesdays to Fridays. Quite apart from the reasonably priced meals on offer, another benefit is the fact that much of what is served at the Café Bakery comes from the college’s own organic farm where other students experience hands-on training in, among other things, Animal Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Wine Studies, and Environmental Conservation.
