I’m on a bus motoring along the highway heading to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Behind me is Singapore, and another chapter in this journey through 2012. Ahead of me the bus illuminates the road, and right now that’s as far into the future as I can see.
As I sit back in my seat watching the world outside my window, the daylight has all but faded as the sun retreats behind the horizon. My iPod fills my ears with the music of Peter Bradley Adams, and in doing so has transformed this otherwise uninspiring transition from one place to the next into something that feels like a scene from a movie. A movie about a journey perhaps. A movie that lingers on the landscapes and the things that usually find their place in the background. It’s a low budget movie for sure, but it’s got an awesome soundtrack.
