“Truck graffiti culture in Paris is the most sophisticated of its kind anywhere in the world” according to the Underground Paris website.

I find myself thinking that perhaps I am missing the subtitles of the “sophistication” applied to these trucks. However, like the tagged doorways of Melbourne that I’ve photographed over the years, I rather like these vans and trucks with their chaotic colors and bizarre tags.

Is it art? I suppose that’s a matter of opinion but while I photographed this truck, a young American guy, who I think might be described as “sophisticated” in that ‘underground’ way, informed me that this particular truck was “sick as fuck.”

In the sophisticated world of Parisian truck art, being “sick as fuck” is high praise indeed.
