The leaves on the trees around me are beginning to turn to gold, their grand finale before they will be gone leaving the branches bare and cold. It’s a beautiful season, but an ominous one. The daylight hours are in retreat, giving way to the tungsten glow of street lights and the sound of traffic in the rain.
