United colors

  • As I walked down a back street in Singapore’s ‘Little India’ today I looked up and saw these colorful windows on an otherwise unremarkable building. One of the things I most enjoy about India, and perhaps it might be fair to say Indians here too, is that they’re not afraid of color. Rainbow colored window shutters, or even dark blue painted walls would be extremely unusual in any of the neighbourhoods I’ve lived in.

    Perhaps I should aspire to live some place where my neighbors rejoice in colors like this, and where the vivid window shutters go some way to reflecting the vibrant streets below.
