  • A woman carefully pours fragrant water over the little Buddha at a Buddhist Temple in Singapore’s Chinatown. The bathing ceremony is performed to celebrate Buddha’s birthday and the altar is arranged as a flower garden to represent the Garden of Lumbini, the Buddha’s birth place.

I’ve visited this temple a couple of times now and each time I’ve been quite captivated by the chanting Monks who preside over ceremonial chanting within the temples impressive main hall.

    1. Bathing ceremoniously with one hand; cell phone in the other…guess she didn’t want to miss Budda’s thank you call….
