A Parisian moment

Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

  • I thought I had got my picture of the day today when I walked across Princes Bridge in the city and was presented with this scene. For a moment the Yarra River is turned from it’s usually muddy brown color to a shimmering gold. On it’s own that was cool, but the ornate street lamp seemed to give it a near Parisian feel.

Of course, we’re a long way from Paris down here on the other side of the world, and in truth I don’t know the city well enough to remember it fondly. But lets not allow facts to stand in the way of our memories. Instead I’ll take this Parisian moment, even if it’s only based on nothing more than the faintest of nostalgie pour une fiction.
